Cheltenham RaceCOURSE

This ongoing project, entitled ‘Under Starters Orders’, started in 2024 and tells the story of the people who attend Cheltenham racecourse. The horse racing meets which start in October each year, and culminate at the Cheltenham Festival in March, attracts hundreds of thousands of people - with over 200,000 people attending during Festival week alone. The racing attracts a mix of traditional horse racing enthusiasts , who are smartly dressed with their hats, long coats, boots, and binoculars, and younger generations who are more casually dressed. Creating a varied mix of people from across all walks of life, all with the common objective of enjoying themselves and hopefully backing a winner.

This project has been partially published in The Raw Society Magazine Issue 4, and a series of images from the project was selected as a Top 3 finalist in Lisbon Photo Fest (2026).
