ABOUT
Tom Pitts is an award winning photographer, and Hasselblad Master, based in Cheltenham, UK. Tom is also a Pro Member of The Raw Society an international collective whose mission is to educate, promote, and create community, in street and documentary photography.
Initially photography was a means of documenting his life and travels with his wife and young family. Given the strict privacy laws in the country he was living in, he was unable to explore street photography where he lived at the time. However, this changed when Tom moved to London in 2020, and once the Covid pandemic had subsided he was able to start practising street photography from 2022.
Since then, Tom has pursued street photography with a passion and has continued to combine that with travel to locations such as Istanbul, Kolkata, and Lisbon where he has photographed extensively.
Tom was recently awarded first prize in the single image category of the 2025 Dublin Street Photography Festival, by the judging panel of Martin Parr, Melissa O’Shaughnessy, and Rammy Narula. As part of the prize for winning, Tom will be exhibiting his work at the 2026 Dublin Street Photography Festival.
Additionally, Tom was the winner of the street photography category of the 2023 Hasselblad Masters, and his winning series ‘The Commute’ was chosen from 85,000 global entrants. As part of winning the title of a Hasselblad Master, Tom was sponsored to undertake a project which is due to be published by Hasselblad in 2025 as part of a collective publication of all the category winners’ work.
